Sustainability

logo_climatepartner_colorAt Wraptite we recognise the role that we in the packaging industry must play in the protection of our planet, and we are committed to the development and supply of sustainable packaging solutions.

As part of this commitment we are proud to announce that Wraptite Eco Wrap is now available as a carbon neutral product.

Our Sustainability Commitment

  1. Calculation of our greenhouse gas emissions

Together with ClimatePartner [www.climatepartner.com], we have measured the carbon emissions that occur during the manufacture of EcoWrap, through raw materials, packaging, logistics, production and disposal: this is known as the Product Carbon Footprint. Please see the attached Carbon Footprint for EcoWrap.

  2. Avoidance and Reduction

We are actively taking steps to reduce our CO2 emissions. We work hard to minimise the waste we generate during production and wherever possible repurpose and re-use materials.

Core Recovery Programme: Working to the principles of the circular economy we strive to keep products and materials in use wherever possible. With our Core Recovery Programme, we work with our customers to collect the cardboard cores from their used rolls of Wraptite pallet wrap. These cores are returned to the factory where they are quality checked and then reentered into the production process. Get in touch today to join this initiative.

Community Recycling: We are proud partners of Fingal Country Council and are happy to use our own facilities to expand and supplement the recycling services on offer to our local community.

  3. Carbon offset through a certified project

We support our customers to offset all unavoidable CO2 emissions from EcoWrap production by supporting a carbon offset project. Carbon offset projects help to remove or prevent greenhouse gases from staying in/or entering the atmosphere through initiatives like forest protection, afforestation, or renewable energy development. In addition, carbon offset projects contribute to sustainable development in project countries, for example by ensuring the supply of clean drinking water or by developing local infrastructures which create employment opportunities for local communities and help to preserve biodiversity. To obtain certification, all carbon offset projects must meet the following criteria: additionality, exclusion of double counting, permanence and regular verification by an independent third party.

Our EcoWrap products are carbon neutral on request. How exactly does this work?

You can choose a carbon neutral version of our products. This means that we calculate our carbon emissions and offset them via a carbon offset project. By doing so, you will receive the unique label stating “carbon neutral” to label your products. This will provide transparency to your customers of your carbon neutrality. The ID and tracking URL on the label allow your customers to view the emissions, the offset amount and the carbon offset project itself.

Along with avoidance and reduction, the offset of carbon emissions is a crucial step in climate action. By investing in internationally verified carbon offset projects, you take an active part in the fight against global warming and also promote the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), for example the fight against poverty or the improvement of living conditions in economically developing countries.

To calculate the Product Carbon Footprint, we take into account all relevant data, including raw materials, packaging and logistics, through to the disposal of our products.

The carbon offset projects are certified according to international standards and demonstrably save on carbon emissions. Additional security is guaranteed by ClimatePartner’s TÜV-Austria-certified process for carbon offsetting.
